Page Communications is a bite-sized public relations agency serving the Kansas City area since 2010. Our bread and butter are the restaurant, retail and hospitality industries, but we dabble in a few other areas too! We are a tight-knit, welcoming group of go-getters and rock stars who are seeking a highly motivated social media crazed intern with a positive attitude! The ideal Social Media intern candidate is a self-starter with a go-getter attitude that can multi-task in a fast-paced environment while maintaining impeccable attention to detail and has the ability to remain incredibly organized while balancing multiple projects. Primary Duties Work alongside the team to implement the client's social media strategy Gather and create captivating content Create, design and publish stories on Instagram and Facebook Go onsite to clients and capture images used for social media Assist in the growth of the brand by raising awareness through various social media platforms Aid in daily social media engagement and monitoring including responding to comments, questions and concerns, and fielding donation requests Handle customer service issues in a timely and professional manner Assist in implementing plans to increase followers on client accounts either through contests, campaigns or influencer partnerships Skills and Qualifications Currently enrolled in college or a recent graduate with a bachelor's degree in communications or related field such as advertising, journalism, public relations or graphic design Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) Impeccable oral and written communication skills Experience with major social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram Capable of bouncing between various brand's voices Interested in social media trends Copywriting and editing skills Creativity Available to work at least 15-25 hours per week or more Strong organizational skills with superb attention to detail Ability to prioritize and manage time Ability to multi-task and handle numerous, ongoing project simultaneously Comfortable working in a collaborative, creative and fast-paced environment Comfortable working with Microsoft Office and Adobe Suites Available to potentially work some evenings/weekends for scheduled events Reliable transportation Bonus Points: Familiar with the Kansas City metro area and understanding of the Kansas City restaurant industry/scene Familiar with multi-social posting through programs such as Later Familiar with Kansas City influencers Basic understanding of AP Style writing Good iPhone photography skills Basic graphic design experience a plus Shows knowledge of the company and its existing clients Benefits: Company laptop Flexible schedule Reimbursed for mileage when traveling for work duties Personal cell-phone stipend Casual dress code Holidays Off Memorial Day, May 31 Independence Day, observed July 5 Pay: $12.00 per hour Schedule: 10-Week Internship from May 24 – Aug. 2, dates are flexible Page Communications Office: 308 Westport Road in Kansas City, Mo.
