Page Communications Manages Public Relations, Social Media for Kansas City Restaurant Week for Fourth Consecutive Year

Page Communications is proud to announce the agency’s continued relationship and partnership with the Kansas City Convention & Visitors Association (KCCVA) and Greater Kansas City Restaurant Association (GKCRA) as the agency of record for the fifth annual Kansas City Restaurant Week, happening Jan.17– 26, 2014. The agency manages all public relations and social media for Kansas City Restaurant Week, which efforts began in August to build one of the premier dining events in the region. The agency is also a Gold Plate sponsor Kansas City Restaurant Week 2014 and serves on the steering committee. This marks the fourth consecutive year the agency has worked with the founding partners, multiple sponsors and hundreds of restaurants to establish, brand and build the10-day culinary event.

In 2013, the event saw a record number of mobile app downloads, historic record traffic on the KCCVA website and received significant media attention. Kansas City Restaurant Week will again showcase a diverse group of restaurants from all parts of the Kansas City metro, offering diners multi-course lunch and dinner menus for $15 and $33, respectively.

Ten percent of each Restaurant Week menu will be donated to the beneficiaries of 2014 Kansas City Restaurant Week. The three charities are Harvesters – the Community Food Network, providing meals to the hungry in Kansas City, and will also benefit the Kansas City Regional Destination Development Foundation and The GKCRA Educational Foundation, both nonprofit organizations helping to advance culinary education and the restaurant and tourism industries in Kansas City. The Kansas City Regional Destination Development Foundation is administered by the KCCVA and primarily focuses on the identification, development and advocacy of tourism products in Kansas City regional communities. The (GKCRA) Educational Foundation provides training to its members in the hospitality industry by developing new educational programs and by offering scholarships to deserving members of the community. In 2010, the inaugural year of Kansas City Restaurant Week, $56,000 was raised with donations increasing each year – $80,000 in 2011, $143,000 in 2012, and $175,000 in 2013.
