As it progresses through its seventh year of operations, Page Communications is pleased to announce the hire of Abi White as public relations coordinator. White joins the Page Communications team after graduating from the University of Missouri School of Journalism in May with a Bachelor of Journalism with an emphasis in Strategic Communication. White joined Page Communications as a summer intern and was hired by the agency in August 2016. White’s responsibilities for the agency include social media strategy and management, press release and advisory writing, media relations, event support, strategic positioning and messaging, and community outreach.
White comes to Page Communications with considerable social media experience through her college courses, as well as her involvement in the University of Missouri chapter of Executive Women International – Collegiate, a global women’s organization that brings together key individuals from diverse backgrounds to promote leadership, enhance personal and professional development, and encourage community involvement. At the latter, White served as communications director and curated regular, engaging content across all social media platforms. Additionally, White assumed the role of social media specialist for her capstone course during her senior year. In this role, she created and implemented a social media strategy for her client, EpicEd, a start-up in Columbia, Missouri that educates middle and high school students through competitive video gaming.
Page Communications recently begun its seventh consecutive year as the agency of record for Kansas City Restaurant Week, one of Kansas City’s premier dining events that has raised over $1.3 million for area charities in its first six years. It also recently represented Third Street Social in Lee’s Summit, Missouri for its grand opening in late June and after, continued as the local restaurant’s agency or record for its public relations and social media strategy and work. Finally, as summer winds down, Page Communications is representing Urbana KC and Sprint Family Fun Days, both community oriented events hosted by the Kansas City Power & Light District. The agency’s scope of work for these events includes media relations, influencer engagement and community outreach.
