Julia Armstrong joins Page Communications as PR Coordinator


As it progresses through its sixth year of operations, Page Communications is pleased to announce the hire of Julia Armstrong as public relations coordinator. Julia’s responsibilities for the firm include social media strategy and management, press release and advisory writing, media relations, event support, strategic positioning and messaging, and community outreach. Armstrong joined Page Communications in mid-August after more than a year at an agency in Boston, which she joined immediately after graduating from college. Armstrong graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in Communication Studies from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences in May 2014.

Armstrong comes to Page Communications from SSPR, a full-service public relations firm with six offices across the country, where she served as an account executive with focused responsibilities of pitching clients’ stories and news to media. From retail to technology to nutrition to education, Armstrong had hands-on experience with a diverse roster of clients and successfully placed multiple media stories across a wide range of outlets.

In addition to the exciting addition of Armstrong, Page Communications recently took home five PRISM awards at the 2015 ceremony hosted by the Greater Kansas City Public Relations Society of America. Two golds were awarded for the team’s work on Hopfest Craft Beer Festival and 2015 Kansas City Restaurant Week social media, while three silvers were gathered for the 2015 Kansas City Restaurant Week media kit, Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Book Lovers Clown Crawl, and a press conference with OptumRx and Kansas Governor Sam Brownback to announced its donations associated with unused medications.

Page Communications has recently begun its sixth consecutive year as the agency of record for Kansas City Restaurant Week, one of Kansas City’s premier dining events that has raised over $1 million for area charities in its first five years. It is also working with client Union Hill to compile a strategy and marketing plan for the district’s commercial leasing. The agency has added some respected and well-known clients to its portfolio in the past six months, including The Well Bar, Grill & Rooftop, Affäre, Generator Studio,Pythons Drill Team, and Knapstein Design.
